Intuo Review 2026: Features, Pricing and What Changed Under Unit4

Intuo no longer exists as its own product. It became Unit4 Talent Management after a 2019 takeover, and I dug up the price list Unit4 does not show on its website, so you can see what it really costs and who it suits.

Intuo Review 2026: Features, Pricing and What Changed Under Unit4

Intuo is no longer sold as its own product. Unit4 bought the Belgian talent management startup in March 2019, and today Intuo lives on as Unit4 Talent Management, part of the wider Unit4 human capital management (HCM) suite.

It still does what Intuo was known for: continuous performance management, 360-degree feedback, pulse surveys, goals and learning. Pricing is not on Unit4's website, but Unit4's own government price list shows it starts at £8,990 a year and works out to roughly £4 to £5 per employee per month for a 250 to 500 person company.

My verdict: worth a demo if you already run Unit4 ERP or work in professional services, public sector or nonprofits. If you are a 60 person startup, look at Lattice or 15Five first.

I started this Intuo review the way you probably did. I typed intuo.io into my browser.

I never got to Intuo.

The site sent me straight to a Unit4 page with one line on it: Intuo has joined the Unit4 family. No login. No pricing. No product tour. Just a pointer to something with a different name.

That is the real problem with this keyword. Most pages that rank for "Intuo review" are directory listings with reviews from 2019, written about a product that has since been renamed, folded into a bigger suite and given AI features. Reading them is like checking a restaurant review, only to find the place was bought by a hotel chain five years ago.

So I did it properly. I followed the redirect, read Unit4's current product pages, went through every user review I could find, and dug up the price list Unit4 files with the UK government. Then I ran those prices for four company sizes.

Here is everything I found: what Intuo was, what it became, what it costs now, and who should still care.

What Is Intuo?

Intuo was a cloud-based HR platform from Ghent, Belgium, built to replace the yearly performance review. Instead of one big, stressful meeting every twelve months, it gave managers and staff a place for small, regular check-ins.

Think of it as the difference between a yearly medical and a fitness tracker. The yearly review tells you what went wrong months ago. Intuo tried to show you what is happening this week.

The company started out in training management, then grew into a full talent management platform. By the time Unit4 bought it, Intuo covered five jobs:

  • 360-degree feedback and employee recognition

  • Guided manager-employee conversations

  • Goal setting with objectives and key results (OKRs)

  • Regular employee engagement surveys

  • A built-in learning management system (LMS), with dashboards and people analytics on top

It was a Deloitte Fast 50 Rising Star in 2016 and counted brands such as Hays, BMW, Verisure and Brussels Airport among its customers. On Capterra, the product still carries the old "intuo-perform" web address, which tells you how much of the review trail is a leftover from those days.

So when people search "what is Intuo software", the honest answer has two parts. Intuo was a people management tool for continuous feedback. Intuo is now a module inside an enterprise software suite.

What Happened to Intuo Under Unit4?

Unit4 acquired Intuo on 26 March 2019. Unit4 is a Dutch enterprise software company best known for ERP, financials and HR systems for "people-centric" organizations: consultancies, universities, councils and charities.

The logic was simple. Unit4 had the system of record (payroll, employee data, finance). Intuo had the part people actually enjoy using (feedback, goals, surveys). Put them together and you get one HR technology stack instead of two.

Intuo's co-founder and CEO, Tim Clauwaert, stayed on to lead the product inside Unit4. Over the following years the Intuo name faded out, and the product was rebranded as Unit4 Talent Management. On review sites it now also appears as "Unit4 Human Capital Management".

Intuo did not shut down. It was absorbed, renamed and extended, and the old domain now points to Unit4.

This is not a dead product with a new sticker on it. It kept growing. Here is what changed between the Intuo you will read about in old reviews and the product you would buy today.

The big shift is ownership of the roadmap. Intuo used to build for anyone who wanted modern performance management. Unit4 builds for its own customers first. That is good news if you are one of them, and less good if you are not.

Intuo Features: What You Get in 2026

I split each feature into two parts: what Intuo did, and what the current Unit4 product does. Old reviews mix these up all the time.

Continuous Performance Management

This was Intuo's core idea, and it survived. Managers schedule regular one-to-one conversations using templates, log what was discussed, and follow up next time. There is a library of questions on strengths, career goals and blockers, and you can add your own.

The 2026 addition is Ava Performance Insights. Before a 1:1, it pulls self, peer and manager assessments into one short summary, so the manager walks in prepared instead of scrolling through months of notes. Unit4 includes it in the existing Talent Management product, not as a paid extra.

What users said: early reviewers loved the "digital napkin" feel for career conversations. The most common complaint was that it is a coaching tool, not a hard rating tool. If you need forced ranking or strict calibration, you will want to check that in the demo.

Employee Feedback and Recognition

Anyone can ask for feedback or give praise without booking a meeting. That covers peer-to-peer feedback, 360-degree feedback and public recognition. Reviewers liked that it made people write feedback in a more structured, thoughtful way, because the platform nudges them to.

Employee Engagement Surveys

Anonymous pulse surveys run on a regular schedule and track engagement drivers over time. Managers see results for their own team, and HR sees trends across the business, including early warning signs of employee turnover.

If surveys are all you need, a full talent management platform is overkill. You may be better off with a simple survey tool. I compared ten of them, with real prices, in my guide to SurveyMonkey alternatives.

Goal Setting and Performance Tracking

Goals cascade from company to team to person, using an OKR style. Early customers said this was the feature that changed behaviour most, because everyone could finally see how their goals linked to the company's.

Now Ava also helps here. Employees can turn rough notes into clear, measurable objectives, which makes goal setting faster for people who hate writing them.

People Analytics and Reporting

There are performance dashboards, engagement heatmaps and HR reporting, and you can export the data. Unit4 now pitches this as "smart suggestions" for managers based on workforce data.

This is the area with the weakest user feedback. Reviewers asked for custom reports, because most reports were predefined. If you live in spreadsheets and BI tools, ask to see the report builder in your product demo, not just the dashboard.

Learning and Employee Development

Intuo had its own learning management system. Unit4 now gives you two choices:

  • Unit4 Learn: a basic LMS for building and tracking courses.

  • Unit4 Learn Plus by Docebo: a more advanced, AI-powered learning platform with personalized learning paths, built in partnership with Docebo.

Add skills profiles and succession planning, and you get a proper career development loop: spot a skills gap, assign learning, track readiness for the next role.

What Users Rate It

The biggest public review set is on Capterra, under the name Unit4 Human Capital Management: 4.2 out of 5 from 27 reviews, with 4.8 for customer support and 4.1 for ease of use. About 80% would recommend it.

One honest warning. Most of those reviews date from 2019, around the time of the takeover. They describe a smaller, simpler product. Treat them as history, not as a test of the 2026 version.

Intuo Pricing: What Unit4 Talent Management Really Costs

Unit4 Talent Management costs at least £8,990 a year, then about £60 per employee per year for small teams, falling to £27 at 1,000 employees. The learning module is extra, from £38 per employee per year.

You will not find those numbers on Unit4's website. I checked. The Talent Management page offers two buttons, "Talk to our friendly team" and "See a demo". No price, no free trial, no self-serve plan.

Capterra is not much help either. It shows a starting price of €20,000, with no detail on what that covers.

So I went to the one place a vendor has to publish real numbers: government buying platforms. Unit4 lists its prices on the UK G-Cloud 15 marketplace, and the Unit4 G-Cloud 15 pricing document (dated 30 January 2026) has a full price table for Talent Management.

Here is how it works:

  • Talent Package (performance, feedback, goals, engagement, succession): priced per full-time equivalent (FTE) employee per year, on a sliding scale. £60 up to 100 FTE, £44 at 500, £27 at 1,000, down to £12 above 25,000.

  • Learning Package (the LMS): a separate sliding scale, from £38 per FTE per year down to £2.

  • Minimum fee: £8,990 a year, whatever your size.

  • Included: standard support and maintenance.

  • Not included: implementation. Unit4 lists 2026 consultant rates of £220 an hour (£253 for an architect), or a fixed-price project.

My Cost Test: Four Company Sizes

I ran those bands through a simple calculator for four company sizes. The price list says the bands are "cumulative", which can be read two ways, so I show a low and a high estimate. Your real quote should land in this range.

£2.25 to £3.59

£38,000 to £64,300

Prices are UK public sector list prices in GBP, before VAT. Private companies outside the UK may get a different quote, but this is the best public benchmark that exists.

Two things surprised me.

First, it is cheaper than I expected. Lattice charges $13 per seat per month for its Performance plus Goals bundle. For 500 people that is about $78,000 a year. Unit4's Talent Package for the same headcount is roughly £22,000 to £26,000. Even after currency conversion, that is a big gap.

Second, watch the FTE count. Unit4 counts every worker: full-time, part-time, temporary staff, contractors and even volunteers. A charity with 200 staff and 300 regular volunteers could be priced as a much bigger organization. Ask how they count before you get a quote.

For your total cost of ownership, add implementation. As a simple example, every 10 consultant days at the listed rate adds about £17,600. Ask Unit4 for a fixed-price setup quote alongside the software licensing quote, so you can compare the full year-one HR software budget.

Pros and Cons of Intuo (Unit4 Talent Management)

Pros

  • Low per-employee price at scale. Once you pass about 250 employees, the list price drops under £5 per employee per month, well below Lattice's published rates.

  • Native ERP integration. If you run Unit4 ERP or payroll, people data flows in without a separate HRIS integration project.

  • Strong support. Customer support is the highest rated area on Capterra, at 4.8 out of 5.

  • Real AI help for managers. Ava Performance Insights cuts 1:1 prep and helps staff write better goals, at no extra charge.

  • Full talent loop in one place. Feedback, OKRs, pulse surveys, learning, skills and succession planning share the same data.

Cons

  • No public pricing or free trial. You need a sales call to see a number, even though one exists in a government document.

  • £8,990 minimum fee. A 50 person company pays about £15 per employee per month, which is poor value at that size.

  • Reporting is the weak spot. Users asked for custom reports for years. Check the report builder before you sign.

  • Learning curve for admins. Early reviewers said setup took real time to learn, and some flagged bugs and odd menu placement.

  • Review data is old. Most public reviews date from 2019, so there is little independent proof of how the 2026 version performs.

  • Best inside the Unit4 world. As a standalone tool, it has a tiny review footprint (27 Capterra reviews) next to rivals with hundreds or thousands.

Is Intuo Still Available?

No, not under the Intuo name. You can still buy the product, but only as Unit4 Talent Management. Here is what I checked on 23 October 2026:

Intuo vs Other Talent Management Platforms

Unit4 Talent Management is the only "talk to sales" vendor here whose real prices you can still check, and at 500+ employees it costs less per head than the performance plans from Lattice or 15Five. It loses on simplicity and on the minimum fee.

Competitor prices are list prices from each vendor's pricing page as reported in October 2026, billed annually.

The pattern is clear. Lattice and 15Five win on transparency and quick setup. Unit4 wins on price at scale and on ERP integration. Culture Amp, Betterworks and SuccessFactors make you talk to sales, just like Unit4 does.

Best Intuo Alternatives

If Unit4 does not fit, these are the five I would look at, matched to the reason you are leaving.

1. Lattice: if you want modern performance reviews with clear pricing. Lattice prints its prices: $10 per seat for Performance, $8 for Goals and OKRs, or $13 for both, plus $4 for engagement surveys. The catch is a $4,000 yearly minimum. Best for growing tech and services firms that want something staff will actually enjoy using.

2. 15Five: if manager coaching is the main goal. Engage starts at $4 per user per month and Perform at $11, billed yearly. It is built around weekly check-ins and manager effectiveness, which is close to Intuo's original idea.

3. Leapsome: if you want the closest match to the old Intuo. Leapsome is a European platform that, like Intuo, bundles reviews, goals, surveys and learning. Pricing is modular and quote-based, so you pay only for the modules you switch on.

4. Culture Amp: if engagement surveys and benchmarks matter most. Culture Amp is strongest on employee experience science and comparing your scores with other companies. It is quote-only and billed yearly.

5. SAP SuccessFactors: if you are a large enterprise already on SAP. It plays the same role for SAP shops that Unit4 Talent Management plays for Unit4 shops. Overkill for anyone else.

Betterworks is also worth a look for big companies that care mainly about goal alignment, but it is quote-only and aimed at the enterprise end.

Who Should Consider Unit4 Talent Management?

Good fit:

  • Companies already running Unit4 ERP, payroll or HCM. This is the biggest reason to buy. Your workforce data is already there.

  • Professional services firms, universities, councils and nonprofits with 250 to 5,000 staff. That is who Unit4 builds for, and where the per-head price gets low.

  • UK public sector bodies, who can buy it straight through G-Cloud at listed prices.

  • HR teams that want performance, engagement, learning and succession planning in one system, not four.

Poor fit:

  • Companies under about 150 employees. The £8,990 minimum makes it expensive per head.

  • Teams that want to start tomorrow. There is no free trial or self-serve signup.

  • Organizations with many volunteers or contractors, unless you agree the FTE count up front.

  • Anyone who needs deep custom reporting without a BI tool on the side.

Is Intuo Worth Considering in 2026?

Yes, but only for the right buyer.

The Intuo you read about in old reviews is gone. What replaced it is a more complete, more grown-up product with AI help for managers, a better learning option and a surprisingly fair price once you have a few hundred employees.

The trade-off is access. You cannot try it, you cannot see a price without digging, and it shines brightest inside the Unit4 ecosystem.

So here is my verdict, plain and simple:

  • Already on Unit4? Book the demo. It is the obvious choice, because your people data is already in place.

  • 250+ staff in services, education, public sector or nonprofit? Put it on your shortlist, and take the G-Cloud price table into the sales call.

  • Small or fast-moving team? Skip it. Lattice or 15Five will get you running this month, for less.
